Hosted by Ms Bronwyn (Senior Speech & Language Therapist), the session provided valuable insights into sensory processing and its impact on children’s daily lives.
During the training, SEED & Early Years parents learnt the importance of sensory experiences in supporting the development and integration of our children’s senses. The session explored the five basic senses—sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch—and highlighted three vital internal senses: proprioception (body position and awareness), vestibular (balance and movement), and interoception (internal body condition, e.g., hunger).
Parents learnt practical strategies for supporting sensory development and regulation, including sensory calming techniques. They also enjoyed an insightful Q&A session.
The Winstedt School strives to empower parents by offering termly parent trainings to reinforce skills at home. Thank you, Ms Bronwyn, for sharing your expertise, and thank you, parents, for your active participation and commitment to your children’s growth.
