Integrated Therapy
Winstedt’s dedicated in-house therapy team provides skills and tools that are relevant to every student through our unique integrated therapy model. Integrated therapy in the classroom is offered as “push-ins” 2x per week in all classes, during un-unstructured times throughout the school day, and students with greater support are provided with “pull-out” small group sessions – these are all included in tuition fees. No other school provides this effective, evidence-based model. The Winstedt School applies our nearly 15 years of best practices in delivering integrated therapy within our innovative education model.
Our therapists work in tandem with the teachers inside and outside the classroom so that students can practice in real-time and apply the impact of therapy support in the classroom — rather than receiving therapy support in isolation outside of the classroom. Our Speech and Language and Occupational Therapists at The Winstedt School are part of each student’s “Team” to support students inside the classroom, in targeted groups and throughout the school day.
Regular feedback to classroom teachers regarding ongoing reinforcement of skills and strategies take place to ensure continuity across the school. Termly feedback is provided to parents regarding each child’s progress.
What does Integrated Therapy look like at Winstedt?
1:1 Therapy Sessions
In addition to our integrated therapy (included in school fees), we provide 1:1 or paired supplemental therapy sessions at School outside of classroom hours for students who may benefit from extra support. This is carried out in close consultation with the student, the parents and the student’s multi-disciplinary team. These supplemental sessions are not included in the school fees.
