Committee for Private Education (CPE)
Established under the Private Education Act, the Committee for Private Education (CPE) is a statutory board sanctioned with the legislative power to regulate the private education sector, to which all international schools belong. In addition to its role as the sectoral regulator of private education institutions (PEIs), the CPE facilitates capability development efforts to uplift standards in the Singapore international school industry. Committee for Private Education (CPE) is part of SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG). SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) Board appointed the Committee for Private Education (CPE) in October 2016 to carry out its functions and powers relating to private education under the Private Education Act. All Private Education Institutes (PEIs) must comply with the regulations under the Private Education Act to operate.
EduTrust Certification
The EduTrust Certification is a quality assurance programme administered by CPE for private education providers in Singapore. This programme aims to distinguish private schools that are able to consistently maintain a high standard of quality in the overall provision of education services and make continual improvements that lead to positive student outcomes. Private Education Institutions (PEIs) also need to be EduTrust certified before being able to offer placement for international students who require Student Passes from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
The Winstedt School successfully renewed our EduTrust Certification in 2019 and was awarded the 4-year EduTrust Certification (valid through 10/02/2024). The award is given to PEIs who sustain an excellent level of performance in management of the school and who provide high quality education standards and welfare for students.
