- During Book Week in March, Winstedt hosted a number of authors as part of our annual event which fosters love of reading for our students.
- Everything is more exciting with superheroes! Middle School students Ms Melanie as part of the Series. Ms Melanie is the author of ‘Amazing Ash and Superhero Ah Ma’, media writing educator and an Associate Faculty at the Singapore University of Social Sciences. This book gently introduces young readers to ageing and dementia in an enthralling superhero story.
- One of our students even got the opportunity to let her creativity shine through and present Ms Melanie her self-created character bible on the descendants of Ash, equipped with amazing tech.
- Junior Year students were in for an adventure with our second speaker, Ms Felicia. Together with her husband Mr Adan, they write as A.J. Low. They wrote the highly acclaimed ‘Sherlock Sam’ series of children’s books which has won multiple awards and is published internationally.
- Students enjoyed finding out about how to stump a detective, asked many questions, taking photographs together, and were thrilled to get their copies of Sherlock Sam autographed!
- Early Years students had the pleasure of meeting Ms Debby who is a wildlife disease ecologist, environmental journalist, Nat Geo Explorer and a Duke University Global Fellow in Conservation Biology and Policy. She wrote Marvelous Mammals which showcases lesser-known animals of Southeast Asia. The delightful alphabet book is beautifully illustrated by Darel Seow.
