Year 5 Students rolled up their sleeves to investigate Properties of Materials through hands-on experiments with everyday objects.
Real-World Applications
They tested wooden spatulas, aluminium foil, fabric, and bubble wrap to understand scientific terms like brittle, transparent, opaque, hard, and soft. Through lively discussions, they discovered why different materials are suited for specific purposes, e.g. why is foil great for wrapping while bubble wrap protects fragile items?
Encouraging Young Scientists
This immersive lesson provided a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their scientific thinking and curiosity about the world around them. Parents, ask your young Scientists about the most surprising material they tested!
