“Hi my name is Affef C and I’ve been studying in Winstedt for 12 years. I am in the graduating Class of 2025 and would like to share my experience with everyone.
My journey at Winstedt started off really difficult. At first, it felt scary and nerve-wracking. I was in a new environment, surrounded by people I didn’t know. Classes seemed confusing, and I often felt scared and lonely. I didn’t really know what to do during my free time.
But over time as I kept coming to school, I learnt to be more confident and open. I began to understand my work, gained confidence to talk to my teachers and most importantly, I started to make more friends. All the friends I made through school have personally helped me grow and learn to be a better person.
To my friend Tristan, whom I have known for 5 years, we always hang out after school. We started a bond with each other over video games, but over time, we started to learn more about each other, our hobbies, likes and dislikes, and aspirations. You taught me how to be a good friend and, more importantly, being a good person to you and to others as well.
To my friend Cóme, whom I’ve known for 8 years, we first met on the school bus where we didn’t know each other. We were in separate classes and we didn’t talk as much. But I’m glad we got to know each other, and glad we hung out together after school. We always have conversations about our interests and aspirations in life. You taught me to dream big, to achieve big and to aspire big. I’m glad you and I also talk once in a while, catch up with one another and help each other out whenever need.
Remember, it’s the people around you who help support you in achieving your dreams and aspirations and staying dedicated and working hard to build your future.”
