Welcome from our Principal
It is my joy and privilege to welcome you to The Winstedt School where we celebrate the tremendous social, emotional, and academic growth that comes from learning within a diverse educational community. I first joined the Winstedt community in 2014 when we decided to enroll our child in the Early Years programme. Since that time, I have seen how the School’s commitment to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment for all learners can be transformational for students, families, and the larger community. I am now humbled and excited to be the Principal of The Winstedt School and to share with you some of what makes The Winstedt School such a great community to be a part of.
At The Winstedt School, we believe that no two brains are alike and that there are many paths to successful learning. In the classroom, this means that learning at The Winstedt School is influenced, not regulated, by British curricula and is leveraged to shape a learning experience that is individualised for each student based on their strengths, natural curiosities, and next steps as a learner. Throughout their time at The Winstedt School, students will participate in a comprehensive programme that not only looks to develop their literacy and numeracy skills, but also places a strong emphasis on socio-emotional well-being, character development, the arts, and opportunities to engage in real-world experiences through partnerships with a variety of organisations in Singapore.
There are many elements that make up a school: programmes, facilities, after-school activities, etc. But it is the people who really make a school shine, and I am honored to work alongside the faculty and staff at The Winstedt School. Whenever I ask anybody who works here what it is that they enjoy the most about their work, the answer is always the same – the students. Our teachers, counselors, psychologists, therapists, and staff absolutely love working with the students at The Winstedt School and are committed to working collaboratively with one another and with families to ensure that students are known, supported, and celebrated as both learners and individuals.
I welcome you to come and visit The Winstedt School to see and feel firsthand why I am so proud to be part of this vibrant and caring community.
Warmly,
Chris Raymaakers
