Creating Safe and Supportive Environments
Our staff came together for a refresher #ProfessionalDevelopment session on safeguarding and behaviour with Chris Timms (Deputy Head Teacher, Dulwich College)
We explored de-escalation, communication, safeguarding reporting and worked through real scenarios that help build confidence and consistency when it matters most.
“None of us has all the answers, but by talking, sharing, listening and learning together, we strengthen our collective practice,” says Principal Nick.
One message we talk about often was reinforced throughout the session: Behaviour is communication – and our response shapes what happens next.
This is part of our ongoing work. Creating safe, predictable and supportive environments takes shared language, regular reflection and a whole-school commitment to getting it right.
