What dedicated facilities are provided on campus for children with different learning preferences?
The Winstedt School has a school-wide interdisciplinary approach to learning that is unique to the school. Adaptations and accommodations are provided within school routines to all of our students in an individualised manner. These accommodations are reflected in our provision and allocation of spaces throughout our school.
Each of our classrooms, in addition to their workstations and setups for different co-teaching approaches, are set up with “calm corners” for students to use when they need breaks. The school has a central break-away space called “The Cloud” which is used by students to take short, supervised calming breaks outside of their classrooms.
Winstedt students receive movement breaks throughout the day. They also have access to three gyms that are available for supervised motor activities, both for Physical Education as well as Occupational Therapy (OT). Our OT gyms are used for individual and group therapies throughout the day, where students develop their fine and gross motor skills through interesting goal-based games and activities.
