The Winstedt School is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Pamela Lim (“Dr Pam”) as Head of Pastoral Care effective 21 June.
Dr Pam knows Winstedt well having served as the designated clinical psychologist for SEED Programme, and strategic advisor for Twice Exceptional (2e) Curie-Einstein Programme. She brings to Winstedt over 20 years of experience working as a clinical psychologist including over a decade as an educator. She served as Department Head of Humanities at the Pathlight School, and as Senior Teacher at Raffles Institution before embarking on a private practice working with children, youths as well as adults.
Ann Yom Steel, The Winstedt School CEO said, “Dr Pam joins us at an exciting time as the School grows and expands the Pastoral Care Department. We are thrilled to have such a veteran and passionate leader join our leadership team. She will play a key role in contributing to Winstedt’s thought leadership in supporting diverse learners. I’m confident that under Dr Pam’s leadership, Winstedt will be a leader in pastoral best practice to ensure that every student has an opportunity to thrive.”
Dr Pam said, “It is an honor to have this opportunity to make a meaningful impact in education and to support the emotional well-being of students as well as the broader Winstedt School community. I feel very fortunate to join an institution with a teaching philosophy and core values that I truly believe in. I look forward to helping to instill in our students that our state of mind is a choice we make, and a commitment. It is about “becoming” versus “being”, and developing that growth mindset.”
Dr Pam holds a Doctor of Psychology, California Southern University; Master of Education, University of Western Australia; Postgraduate Diploma in Education (Secondary), National Institute of Education; and Bachelor of Arts (Hons), National University of Singapore.
