SEED (Readiness) Programme

SEED stands for “Social, Emotional, and Educational Development”. The goal of the SEED Programme is to improve the school-based experience of those students who require an innovative and specialized approach to classroom instruction. The Programme’s model utilizes a child-centred approach to ensure that the appropriate levels of support and interventions, not found in typical classrooms, are readily available.

SEED is a Winstedt-designed school readiness programme that offers an incredible level of tailored support including:

-Maximum of 8 students to 2 full-time specialists in the classroom comprised of a senior special education teacher, and a behavioural therapist

-Social and emotional development curriculum 2x per week conducted by a psychologist

-In-house Speech and Language Therapist and Occupational Therapist that provide targeted weekly in-classroom strategies

View our SEED 2023-2024 Prospectus for more information.

SEED applies Winstedt’s innovative integrated trans-disciplinary educational model customized for SEED student profiles. Integrated therapy and social and emotional skills development are curated as part of every SEED student’s day-to-day compulsory education. Compare this to other schools that offer ad hoc therapies that are conducted in isolation from the student’s overall classroom and learning pathway. All SEED specialists work strategically in tandem, not in isolation, for our students.

Our integrated trans-disciplinary approach ensures maximum impact in the ongoing growth and development of each individual student based on their profile and specific learning needs.

Please contact our Admissions Team at admissions@winstedt.edu.sg to learn more about our SEED programme.

We are on a mission to revolutionize and redefine education and learning in Asia, to foster a truly inclusive and equitable education for students who require an additional degree of ongoing and individualized attention.

SEED specialists are highly trained and have a demonstrated track record of success in early intervention. Aligned with the Winstedt Way, every unit of study planned for a SEED student is deliberately designed with research-based expertise and bespoke for every child.

SEED Programme delivers a trans-disciplinary team consisting of:

  • SEN Teacher and Behavioral Therapist: these are the “homeroom” teachers who are with the SEED students throughout the school day
  • Psychologist: a clinical/educational psychologist delivers a social and emotional development curriculum twice per week
  • Speech and Language Therapist: a dedicated in-house Winstedt SLT therapist comes to SEED class weekly for Winstedt’s group push-in session, and is available to SEED students onsite throughout the week to provide expertise and assistance to the homeroom teachers
  • Occupational Therapist: a dedicated in-house Winstedt OT therapist comes to SEED class weekly for Winstedt’s group push-in session, and is available to SEED students onsite throughout the week to provide expertise and assistance to the homeroom teachers

The SEED Programme is specifically designed for students who are not yet ready for our mainstream classroom environment and need more intensive support and resources to get them ready for our early years and junior school classrooms.

The age range of SEED students is typically from 5-8 years old.

As in all of our classrooms at Winstedt, we do not allow shadow teachers, nor provide 1:1 support in SEED; this is to foster student independence and self-advocacy which underpin our Schoolwide Learner Outcomes
